AQUITTALS IMPORTANT FOR SCHOOLS By DIANNE WAKETSI

AQUITTALS IMPORTANT FOR SCHOOLS 31 July 2013

Acquittals are very important and schools must make every effort to submit them as required. Acting Secretary for Education Dr Michael Tapo made these comments when responding to an article in The National's Momase Regional Section citing the Provincial Education Advisor for Morobe Murika Bihoro saying that the education department should not focus on asking for acquittals from schools as a requirement to release the next batch of subsidies. Mr. Tapo adds that clarification on the tuition fee free and subsidy funds is public money and must be acquitted as required by the Public Finance Management Act of 1995 and is no different to the past acquittals and principals and head teachers should know this requirement. Tapo called on all head teachers, principals and managers of elementary to secondary, high schools, national high schools and vocational centers throughout the country to submit their schools 2012 Tuition Fee Free / Subsidy financial report immediately so that subsidies are released.
