EDA RANU WATER DISCONNECTION EXERCISE 03 Sep 2013

Eda Ranu today kick started its Disconnection Exercise at the Rainbow Estate in the suburbs of Gerehu. According to the Manager of Customer Services, Paul Gore the Disconnection Exercise is an initiative of the current Board and Management aimed at cracking down on illegal water users, ensuring that all properties are properly and legally connected to the EDA RANU mains supply. He said there were over 4000 properties disconnected previously due to nonpayment of bills and illegal connections; however most properties have again resorted to illegal connections during the past 10 years. Mr Gore says the exercise will be conducted al throughout NCD, adding currently 65 percent are property owners in NCD are getting water illegally. He revealed that the suburbs that owe a lot of money to Eda Ranu in terms of illegal connections and unpaid bills are Hohola, Gerehu and Tokarara. Gore urged property owners and business houses to come forward and have their water supply formally reconnected to avoid permanent disconnections. Meanwhile, the disconnection exercise will continue till all the 4000 properties who are getting water illegal are dealt with.
