OPPOSITION MP’s DENIED K5m INFRASTRUCTURE FUNDS BY PM
MEMBERS of the Opposition have been denied to receive the K5 million Infrastructure funding by the Prime Minister.
This concern was raised by Senior Statement and Abau MP Sir Puka Temu when addressing the issue of the fairness of the distribution of Infrastructure Funds to members of parliament.
Sir Puka revealed that only 4 Opposition MPs were given the privilege of the K5 million infrastructure funds per member of parliament, while the rest of the MPs in the Opposition are denied accessing it.
Sir Puka calls on the Prime Minister and the Treasurer Ian Ling Stuckey to be fair and not use the budget to disadvantage those in the Opposition.
He says the rest of the MPs in the Opposition represent over 30 percent of the population close to 3 million people, these are the people who continue to suffer when these budgeted funds are held back and not given to the MPs.
He reiterated that if the Prime Minister continues to penalise those who disagree with him, the constituencies that these MPs represent are also being penalized, and this is against the law.
Meantime Sir Puka says the Prime Minister has now forgotten to manage the country and is now focusing on managing politics, adding the evidence of it was the recent distribution of K5 million cheques to the members of the Government and not the Opposition.
