WAU-WARIA MP Marsh Narawec has called on the Government to Formalise the Alluvial Mining Sector.
The pioneer MP made this call during his presentation this morning at the PNG Resources Week Day 2 being held at the University of Papua New Guinea (UPNG).
Mr. Narawec said the Alluvial Mining Sector has the potential to lift the economy of the country.
He says if this Sector is formalised it will bring up to K10 million foreign exchange per annum.
He says 90 percent of the people in his district receive their income from this sector with everyone in the District doing Alluvial Mining.
He further adds that the sector creates income generation, job creation, and with increase of cash flow which leads to economic development.
