HUNTERS TAKING THE LAST LAUGH OVER THE CLYDESDALES
SP PNG Hunters are looking set to finish within the top-four of the Queensland Hostplus Cup competition and through to the finals after almost seven seasons.
A spirited and much needed 46-12 victory over the struggling Western Clydesdales yesterday (Saturday, 24th of August) at the National Football Stadium, means the Port Moresby-based franchise will have to wait for the results of the Radcliffe Dolphins and Sunshine Coast Falcons games respectively, to see whether they leapfrog into the much anticipated spot.
Doubles to Joshua Lau and Elijah Roltinga led the way for the hosts, in front of more than 7952 supporters, fans, followers, sponsors, and families gather to watch the final match of the season proper.
Despite a solid defensive effort from the visitors, the Hunters manage to take an 18-6 lead at the break.
While individual brilliances from Benji Kot, Brandon Nima, Judah Rimbu, Whallan Tau-Loi widened the gaps.
Playmaker Jamie Mavoko found his boots perfect with converting seven from the eight attempts.
