DESTRUCTION OF MEDICAL SUPPLY STORAGE TO AFFECT PEOPLE

With reports of the Area Medical Store in Lae Morobe Province going up in flames this (Sunday) morning, people of Western Highlands Province are being urged to keep safe.

Western Highlands Provincial Health Authority CEO Jane Holden says they do sometimes source supplies from Lae but most times got their supplies through Dobel, Mt Hagen.
However, Lae has the biggest supply store which has gone up in flames, affecting health services in Morobe Province ,with ripple effects set to affect other neighbouring provinces as well.
Ms Holden also pointed out that taking out a drug and medical supply store will have impact on the whole country.

Meanwhile, almost 200 health facilities across Morobe province, Eastern Highlands, Manus and the Sepik provinces will be affected as they procure their medical supplies from the Morobe Area Medical store.
