After a stellar season for one of the most improved rugby clubs in the Capital Rugby Union competition, the Theodist MBB Marlins will be hosting the Gerehu Firelight 7s competition at the Gerehu Sports Centre on the 2nd of November.

Marlins Flanker and CRU Gaigais representative, Malawasi Lewete, who is also one of the Tournament Directors told FM100 Sports that this 7s tourney is all about bringing together rugby talent from the largest suburb in the country in a celebration of the short format of rugby and to keep the interest in the code alive.

He mentioned that the competition will be a one-day event, with 16 teams and four pools of 4 to battle it out for the Firelight Cup.

This is the clubs first major initiative in promoting the code and promises that it will get bigger and better.

Confirmed teams taking part are as follows:

Gerehu Natives, 3 Bulls, Flying Fox 17, G3 Spartans, GS1 Crosshairs, Creek Rhinos, Wala Hurricanes, Komara Kape, Duru 7 [D7], New Rutz, Dakas, Milner, Stoltz, Lions.
