PNG PREPARES FOR MAJOR PETROLEUM INVESTMENTS AT 2024 CONFERENCE

Papua New Guinea is poised for a major leap forward in its petroleum and energy sectors, as highlighted at the ongoing 2024 Petroleum and Energy Conference held at the Hilton Hotel in Port Moresby. Leaders from key sectors have gathered to discuss investment opportunities, the development of local content, and technological advancements.

Amos Tepi, Group CEO of Telikom PNG emphasized the importance of communication technology in driving future growth in PNG’s oil and gas industries.

“We need to understand the environment, and communication is key in supporting the developments in these sectors. We are prepared to provide the vital infrastructure for the upcoming projects, including PNG’s large-scale LNG and mining operations.”

The sentiments of Mr. Tepi aired on the Nasfund FM100 Talkback Show.

The conference also highlighted the significance of local partnerships in these industries with Companies like Trans Wonderland Limited (TWL) expanding their services.

They are partnering with global players to enhance their capabilities in heavy lifting and logistics.

“The potential here is immense, and we are committed to providing the best services for the oil and gas sector while keeping investments local,” added TWL’s Desmond Kerali.

The conference continues to attract international attention, with businesses flying in from Japan and other nations to explore opportunities in PNG’s resource sector.
