EDUCATION never ends and does not stop after grade 12.

These were the words of encouragement from Kiunga Secondary School Principal, Mr Jebol Iowa when addressing his GRADE 12 graduating students last week, in Kiung, Western Province.

Mr Iowa reminded the 158 graduands of the other available options to consider after Grade 12.

Mr Iowa emphasised “education never ends,” and those who may not continue their studies at tertiary institutions to consider pursuing alternative educational paths, such as Flexible Open Distance Education (FODE), to fulfill their dreams and ambitions.

This year’s graduation marked the schools 25th Graduation Anniversary since 2000.

Meantime, Mr Iowa also outlined that the school urgently need standard infrastructure to effectively

implement the Standard-Based Curriculum (SBC), also known as the 1-6-6 educational structure.

This year is the second year of KSS adopting the SBC framework, which requires significant infrastructure support for successful execution.

Mr. Iowa highlighted the school’s critical needs, which include the construction of 6 dormitories to accommodate 96 students each, 6 classrooms, 4 teachers’ houses, 2 computer labs, and other essential facilities.

In his speech, he appealed to the stakeholders for their support, emphasizing that with the right infrastructure, KSS would be well-equipped to enhance the delivery of the SBC curriculum and positively impact the education of its student.
