BFPNG ANNOUNCES ALL-STAR NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP IN GOROKA

The Basketball Federation of Papua New Guinea has revealed that the All-Star Championships will be held in Goroka, Eastern Highlands Province from December 5th to 7th, 2024.

This announcement was made during a press conference at the Taurama Aquatic Centre in Port Moresby.

BFPNG President, Mr. David Peter, expressed excitement about hosting the All-Star competition in the Highlands region for the first time.

He encouraged the teams in Goroka to take the lead, as BFPNG will provide the necessary technical support.

Peter emphasized that the focus of the competition is on individual performances rather than team performance.

This is because selections will be made for five different international competitions for PNG next year, including the 3×3 tournaments in Singapore and Palau, the 5×5 tournament in Solomon Islands, as well as the Pacific Games and the Commonwealth Games.

He challenged the coaches, teams, and players to strive for excellence and make Papua New Guinea a dominant force in Basketball in the Pacific region.
