VUNAPOPE HOSPITAL RECORDS 7 BABIES BORN ON FESTIVE PERIOD

THE MATERNITY ward at the Vunapope Hospital in Kokopo, delivered 7 babies over the new year period.

Sr. Siwa the Clinical Supervisor On-call yesterday, confirmed saying the duty staff delivered these babies before New Year and just after mid night.

Sr Siwa also confirmed Vunapope Hospital remained quiet yesterday, with no major cases reported until after 3AM, with an increased in patients referrals from the West Coast of Namatanai in New Ireland Province.

Sr Siwa says, two patients with lacerations were treated, but tragically, one patient died before arrival from serious injuries.

The other patients treated were reported laceration cases including a dog bite victim but all were treated and are stable.

In a positive turn, visitors from Paradise Beverage stopped by to uplift spirits in the paediatric and maternity wards, bringing joy to both staff and families.
