POLICE TO COMMENCE SEARCH FOR COP KILLER SUSPECTS TODAY

Police in Southern Highlands are ready to move into a village where suspects linked to the fatal killing of Constable Noah Biape are believed to be hiding.

Southern Highlands Provincial Police Commander, Chief Inspector Epenis Nili, told FM100 News that police will travel to Timipa village, about 10 kilometers from Mendi town, to capture the three suspects today. He confirmed the suspects’ identities are known and urged the local community to cooperate with the police.

One suspect was arrested last week and is currently in police custody.

Meanwhile, two officers injured in the attack are in critical condition at Mendi General Hospital. Two civilians who were also hurt in the incident are receiving treatment as well.

Police recovered two firearms that were taken during the attack. Chief Inspector Nili strongly condemned the violence and emphasized that police will not rest until justice is served, as investigations continue.
