EDUCATION POLICY NAME CHANGED

IN ANTICIPATION of the country’s 50th independence anniversary, the Marape Rosso Government has put more emphasis on Education.

Education Minister Lucas Dekena earlier this week announced that the Government Tuition Free Subsidy (GTFS) policy was reviewed and title or name has been changed to Government Free Education Policy (GFEP).

Minister Dekena announced that Government Tuition Free Subsidy (GTFS) introduced in 2020 and was used for the following years has officially been renamed Government Free Education Policy (GFEP), starting this year onwards.

He adds that the name change was necessary as the former title Government Tuition Free Subsidy (GTFS) was no longer since 2022 because the government has been paying the full fees and did not require parental contribution.
