LOCAL FINANCE COMPANY HELPS CHURCH BUILDING FUNDRAISING
ONE of the country’s local finance firms, the McBro Finance Ltd has come to rescue a Catholic congregation in the remote Tambul-Nebilyer district of Western Highlands, in dire need of raising funds to build their new church.
The Sinsibai Sacred Heart Parish in the Archdiocese of Mt. Hagen, was given a significant sigh of relieve after McBro Finance Ltd come on board with K50 000 as their support yesterday (Friday, 31st February), to fulfil company’s Social Corporate Responsibility to help communities and people, they work, live, operate and do business.
Company’s managing director Thomas Dumu, while presenting the cheque, boldly stated that it is not their first time in helping and supporting such community-driven activities and other related community-based services.
Mr. Dumu said the company also help schools, health services, water projects and invest in sports and social activities to empower youths and extend their hands to support those in need for better place to live in.
“For us at McBro Finance Ltd, this is not the first time we are helping Churches and communities,” Mr. Dumu stated.
“It is the company’s mission and vision of giving back to the communities and people, where we operate and does business under our corporate social responsibility.
“We are grateful to help Churches and schools and other community-based services because this is where most of our population lives.
“So, having that vision, our aim is to change communities, and we are now giving K50 000 to Sinsibai Catholic Parish to support their fundraising in constructing new church building.”
Company’s Finance Manager Brian Anis further added the Sinsibai Catholic Parish congregation fundraising committees have written to their office, seeking for financial help and that is when they are stepping in to assist them.
Fundraising Chairman Allan Sumb and secretary Anthony Gonol thanked McBro Finance Ltd and Mr Dumu for the positive response to their letter, seeking help.
Mr. Sumb said they would at least need K4m to complete a modern-architectural structured church that will cater four-outstations and population at around five to six thousand.
“This help will go a long way in our construction of the new Church building and we really thank McBro Finance for timely interception.
Mr. Sumb and Gonol thanked other corporate business houses and individuals support this worthy-cause and also WHP governor Wai Rapa for pledging K100 000.
