DHERST YET TO ALLOCATE FUNDS FOR MAPEX

MAPEX Training Institute is registered under the Department of Higher Education Research, Science and Technology (DHERST), as a Registered Training Organization (RTO), recently registered by DHERST, however, DHERST is yet to allocate scholarship funds, as the institution only got accredited late last year, 2024.
In an interview with this newsroom, the Principal of MAPEX Training Institute, Port Moresby campus, Ms. Donah Miskaram, said the institution has already been registered by DHERST, however, there are many technicalities like printing MTI on the school leaver forms, program accreditation, and many more.
She says by next year the institution should have students selected through the system thus funds allocated for help loans, etc.
The Academic program is more theoretical and the diploma programs that caters for Human Resource management, Accounting, Business Management, Information and Technology and Tourism and Hospitality is under a 2 years program,
She believes this year Mapex Training is expecting more than 500 student enrolments, especially for the technical driving courses and business courses, as there are many changes happening in the institute.
Ms. Miskaram also emphasized on TVET programs which the institution is offering Diploma program that for a year and Certificate courses for 6 months.
She said TVET programs are more hands-on and practical.
There is also a study pathway to continue the degree program, 3rd year Associate degree and fourth year Bachelor.
Enrolments at MAPEX, Port Moresby Campus is still open.
