KING CHARLES CONVEYS CONDOLENCES FOR LOSS OF SIR JULIUS

The King of the United Kingdom and of the Commonwealth Realms, King Charles III has sent his condolences to the family of the Late Rt. Hon. Sir Julius Chan for the loss of one of the last founding fathers of Papua New Guinea.


In a letter to the Governor General of Papua New Guinea, H.E Bob Dadae’s office, the King stated that he and Queen Consort, Camilla were deeply saddened by the loss of a very influential figure in PNG Politics.


HE said he was profoundly saddened to learn of the loss of Sir Julius Chan, who he described as a dedicated public servant, and devoted his life to help build Papua New Guinea into the strong, independent nation that it is today.


The Went went on to declare that the dedication of Sir Julius served as an inspiration to many, remembering the Sir Julius with great fondness.


The King & Queen Consort send their heartfelt condolences to Sir Julius’s family, and to all Papua New Guineans, as his loss is mourned throughout Papua New Guinea.
