Madang Provincial Police Commander (PPC), Acting Superintendent Robert Baim, has extended heartfelt thanks to the Madang community for their crucial support in the recent apprehension of two highly wanted criminals. These individuals were involved in serious offenses, including armed holdups, and their arrests mark a significant victory in the ongoing fight against crime in the region.

PPC Baim highlighted the indispensable role played by the Madang Rapid Response Network (MRRN) and other vigilant community members. Their cooperation and vigilance provided law enforcement with the necessary information to track and capture the suspects.

“The successful arrests of these criminals underscore the critical importance of community involvement and support in our crime-fighting efforts. We deeply appreciate the timely and valuable information provided by the public, which was instrumental in locating and apprehending these dangerous individuals,” Superintendent Baim stated.

He expressed the growing frustration among residents regarding rising crime rates and affirmed that the community’s active participation in assisting the police is a testament to their commitment to safety.

“People are fed up with crime and are now stepping up to assist law enforcement. To those who think they can evade justice, let me be clear: the government has a long arm to combat crime for the good of its people. We will not tolerate such animalistic behavior.”

Superintendent Baim reassured residents that the police force remains committed to acting swiftly and decisively on credible intelligence.

“I, as Provincial Police Commander, along with my dedicated policemen and women, will be tough on crime. Your ongoing cooperation is vital. Together, we can build a safer environment for everyone in Madang. The community’s support not only aids in immediate arrests but also serves as a deterrent to potential criminal activities.”

The PPC is calling on all residents to stay vigilant and promptly report any suspicious activities through the designated contact lines. This cooperative approach is essential to preventing further criminal acts and enhancing the overall security of the province.

Superintendent Baim also mentioned that the police force is dedicated to increasing its presence and response capabilities in the area, aiming to reassure the public and discourage criminal behavior.
