ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT STUDIES CONDUCTED FOR MARAMUNI RURAL HOSPITAL

The Wabag District Deveolpment Authority (WDDA) is determined to ensure the construction of the K26 million Maramuni Rural Hospital begins soon after the environmental assessment studies were successfully completed recently.
Wabag Open MP Dr.Lino Tom has already secured funding with counterpart financial backing from the Australian Government and the Asian Development Bank respectively.
He highlighted the completion of the environmental assessment studies conducted by the National Department of Health with necessary technical assessment already carried ensuring this exercise was thoroughly conducted as initially planned.
The Level 3 Rural Health Facility Project will soon undergo construction after the more than 100 kilometers road project linking the once isolated Maramuni LLG reached Pasalangus government station and is continuing into the Sepik Plains in the East Sepik Province.
With road connectivity as a basic requirement for this impact project, the WDDA tirelessly worked around the clock ensuring the remote constituency was connected to the outside world making the establishment of this vital, health project a reality.
The Maramuni LLG is made up of a dozen of wards scattered across a tough, geographical terrain covering parts of the Maip Mulitaka LLG in the Paiela-Pogera District, Ambum LLG in the Kompiam Ambum District and bordering Angoram District in the East Sepik Province.
