GARAMUTS TRAVEL DELAYED

The Papua New Guinea U19 Garamuts’ international tour to Brisbane has been delayed by one week due to Cyclone Alfred. The team will now depart on 21 March and return on 31 March.
Despite this delay, the Garamuts remain focused on their preparations for upcoming matches in Brisbane and the ICC Men’s U19 Cricket World Cup East Asia-Pacific (EAP) Division 1 Qualifier in Japan. The Australian Government’s PacificAus Sports program, in partnership with Cricket Australia, is supporting the tour and helping provide opportunities for the team.
Garamuts Captain Gaba Frank expressed confidence in the team’s readiness, stating, “The team is focused, and the players have been working hard. Even with this schedule change, we are committed to keeping up the intensity in training.”
The tour’s match schedule will be updated next week due to the cyclone. The 18-player squad for the tour remains unchanged, and three reserve players have also been named. The team is looking forward to the revised schedule and will continue their training to stay prepared.
