BUILDING A SOLID FOUNDATION| A KEY FOCUS FOR CRU

By Nigel MADO
Providing adequate pathways and garnering interest for the code of Rugby is within the interest of the Capital Rugby Union this season as they gear up for the 2025 Season.
President Kori Chan stated during the 2025 Season launch last night that as part of the 4 pillars of the provincial union, enhancing the growth of these areas are pivotal to driving growth not only the code but other aspects of society as well.
He stated that when talking about building a strong foundation, there is nothing stronger that they can build apart from focussing on junior development.
As part of this CRU had to make it an initiative last year to kickstart a junior league. Chan extended his thanks to former Queensland Reds and ACT Brumbies fullback Aidan Toua and Brendan Chan from Pepsi for leading that initiative.
The CRU is also looking forward to running a junior 10s competition this year from under 12s all the way up to under 16s.
The president said they will be pushing hard and thanked MoniPlus who have been not just involved with CRU over the years, but also with one of the clubs, in the likes of Nova.
