PNGOC RUN WORKSHOP IN ESP

By Thelma ALLINGHAM, East Sepik Province
The Papua New Guinea Olympic Committee is teaming up with the East Sepik Provincial Sports and Recreation Unit to roll out the 2nd Oceania Sports Education Program—this time in Central Sepik.
The program will be hosted in the Maprik District and offers a golden opportunity for local coaches, team officials, and sports administrators from districts like Ambunti Dreikikir, Wosera Gawi, and Yangoru Sausia to boost their sporting knowledge and leadership skills.
Running from June 16th to the 27th, the PNG Olympic Committee will deliver three key courses:
- The OSEP Community Coaching and Official Coach Course,
- The Sport in Communities Administrator’s Course, and
- The National Team Manager Course.
A special one-day event focused on Olympic sports is also on the calendar, giving participants a taste of the Olympic spirit.
Organizers are calling on individuals, sports clubs, associations, and schools to register early. Interested participants can contact Alois Maken in Maprik on 73955331 or reach out to the Provincial Sports Unit in Wewak.
With sports growing at all levels across the country, these courses aim to build confidence, leadership, and bring positive change through sport in communities.
