FOLLOWING the recent suspension and termination of Mr Cullighan Tanda, former Manager of Talkback Show and Government Relations, Kalang Advertising Limited, confirmed and clarified that his termination followed a comprehensive internal investigation into serious breaches of internal governance protocols, editorial standards, and the conditions of his suspension.

In a press statement released yesterday, the investigation revealed that Mr. Tanda failed to adhere to established internal procedures and editorial protocols relating to the Talkback Show broadcast of 17 April 2025, and Key findings include;

Lack of Content Moderation: No scripts, talking points, or structured moderation were developed, resulting in an unvetted, speculative, and politically charged broadcast that undermined the editorial integrity of the program.

Neglect of Internal Coordination: The designated Content Creator was not informed or involved in the vetting process. The KAL CEO and Senior Content leadership were unaware of the broadcast topic.

Breach of Suspension Conditions: While under formal suspension, Mr. Tanda used the company’s official letterhead to respond to disciplinary actions and circulated confidential documents via social media—actions that constituted a clear breach of trust and suspension terms.

Conflict of Interest: Mr. Tanda admitted to having met privately with any guests prior to the broadcast. This raised legitimate concerns about impartiality and editorial independence.

Kalang Advertising Limited affirms that the termination decision was made following due process and after careful review by an objective and impartial investigative system.

 The disciplinary process was independent and was not influenced by any political or external actors.

While public attention has surrounded this case, it is important to note that this was an internal administrative matter guided by the principles of journalistic ethics, accountability, and organizational integrity.
