PUBLIC SERVICES COMMISSION SUBMITS 2022 & 2023 ANNUAL REPORTS

THE Public Services Commission today, Tuesday, 20th of May 2025, has submitted the Annual Reports of the years, 2022 and 2023 to the Governor General of Papua New Guinea, Sir Bob Dabae at the Government House, Konedobu.
Public Services Commission Acting Chairman Apeo Sione while submitting the reports stated that it is in accordance with the section 17 (1) of the Public Services (Management) Act 2020 and under Section 191 (4) of the National Constitution that the Commission must submit the reports, so it can be presented to the National Parliament.
PSC Acting Chairman Sione further stated that the presentation of the reports reflects the Commission’s continued commitment to transparency, accountability and good governance in the oversight and administration of the public service.

“These reports serve not only as a statutory requirement, but as a vital instrument of accountability to the people of Papua New Guinea.
“These reports demonstrate out ongoing efforts to ensure effective, efficient and impartial public service that meets the evolving needs of the country we serve.
“The report outlines significant developments and progress in PSC’s roles and functions and digital transformation incentives aimed at enhancing operational efficiency.”
Mr. Sione also emphasised the critical role of the Public Services Commission in upholding merit-based appointments, ethical standards and professional development within the public sector.
The Acting Chairman further highlighted that the 2022 and 2023 reports provide a comprehensive overview of the Commission’s operations, key decisions, achievements and challenges over the past two years.
Mr Sione singled out that reports will go before the National Parliament through the Office of the Governor-General in accordance with the statutory requirements and copies will be disseminated through the Commissions’ website and office to ensure accessibility and public engagement.
Governor-General Sir Bob Dadae received the reports, reaffirming to present to the Parliament and commended the commission for living up its responsibilities to make available the reports of 2022 and 2023.
