A young mother from East Sepik is pleading for answers and support for her baby, who has a rare medical condition.

Stephanie Joseph has taken to social media, to share her daughter Leinda Amof’s story of battling with Infantile Spasms.

The young mother, in a video that has now gone viral on Facebook, described how her 14-month-old daughter, began suffering seizures, boils, and vision problems just weeks after birth.

Speaking to Kalang News in a telephone interview yesterday, Stephanie said they would like to get some definitive answers, as baby Leinda’s condition does not seem to be improving.

Stephanie says for now, they are hoping to see a neurosurgeon and to get some advice on the next course of action.

She also hopes that sharing Baby Leinda’s story on social media, would help get not just her, but other parent’s more answers and better treatment for infantile spasms.

Stephanie Joseph says that Health Authorities both in East Sepik and the NDoH have been made aware of baby Leinda’s condition and have prioritized her case.
