DfCDR BRINGS TOGETHER KEY PLAYERS TO IMPLEMENT NEW COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BILL 2025

THE Department of Community Development and Religion yesterday, officiated the opening of a three-day regional consultation workshop at the Tuhava Resort in Napanapa, Central Province.
The three-day workshop commenced today with the representatives from the Provincial Community Development Centers from the Southern and New Guinea Islands region.
Under the theme “Going Rural-Promoting Partnership for Sustainable Community Development for Better Future”, the workshop aims to bring together key players to deliver program services delivery at the District Community Development Centers across the country.
In his opening remarks, the Secretary for DfCDR, Mr Jerry Ubase stressed on the importance of bringing other all stakeholders for the purpose of implementing the new Community Development Bill 2025.
“Today marks a significant step towards our shared commitment for inclusive development, Community empowerment, policy and legislative initiatives. Your presence here reflects the collective will to shape a future that is responsive, resilient, and rooted in the aspirations of our people.” Mr Ubase said
Secretary Ubase said the main focus for this regional consultation workshop is to gauge views, provide dialogue and inform our provincial and district partners on the importance of DCDC flagship Project and program delivery plan at the district, wards and community level.
Mr. Ubase reiterates that key objectives which is to inform key stakeholders on DCDC concept, identify program priorities, challenges and develop strategies and finally to enhance stakeholder collaboration, adding that this workshop is not just a meeting of minds, it is a platform for action.
Also present at the official opening is the Acting Provincial Administrator for Central Province, Mr Edward Kila who shared the same sentiments with the secretary Ubase, adding that collaboration amongst the DCDCs is crucial for a nationwide reach and this workshop will help identify key aspects
The workshop started on Monday 30th June 2025 and will conclude on tomorrow, Wednesday, 02nd July 2025.
