HUNTERS CENTER ELIJAH ROLTINGA SUFFERED BROKEN LEG INJURY

THE PNG Hunters management has confirmed that gun centre Elijah Roltinga has suffered a broken leg injury and will be sidelined for the remainder of the 2025 Queensland Hostplus Cup season.
Roltinga sustained a nasty injury in the pre-game warm-up before Hunters home-game clash against Townsville Blackhawks in the round 16 fixture.
Hunters’ management also stated that Roltinga, who also made his Test debut in PNG Kumuls colour in the Pacific Championship, last year, is undergoing medical treatment and rehabilitation after admitted at the Pacific International Hospital.
The management further added that it was unfortunate situation for the Western Highlands lad, and would offer every opportunity and care to make his return in the near future.
“In an unfortunate and unexpected incident during the warm-up of our Round 16 clash against the Mendi Blackhawks, Elijah sustained the injury prior to kick-off,” Hunters management stated in a statement today.
“He was immediately medevacked to Pacific International Hospital (PIH), where he was admitted overnight and underwent surgery the following morning.
“We are pleased to report that the procedure was successful, and Elijah is now in recovery.
“He will soon begin a comprehensive rehabilitation program and will receive the highest standard of medical care available in Papua New Guinea to support his return to the field.
“Elijah is a valued member of our squad, and his presence will be missed both on and off the field. We will continue to provide updates on his progress and recovery in due course.
“Our thoughts are with Elijah and his family during this challenging time, and we wish him a full and speedy recovery.”
