FINAL DAY OF FESTIVITIES AT THE ENB MASK FESTIVAL AND WARVAGIRA SHOW

THE four days of the 28th Coca Cola Mask Festival and Warvagira show winds down today, at the George Brown High School vicinity in the Gazelle District of East New Britain province.

This festival is an annual iconic cultural event, showcasing the unique culture of of the people of East New Britain, the three ethnic groups including the Tolais, the Pomios and the Bainings.

The festival commenced on Wednesday the 9th of July with Traditional Kinavai ceremony, a very significant ceremony to the people of East New Britain that signifies the Tubuan Society, as the traditional arm of governance in East New Britain.

The event has always been supported by the East New Britain Provincial Government, East New Britain Tourism Authority, Gazelle Development Authority.

This year’s 28th Coca Cola Mask Festival and Warvagira is theme, “Gospel in Culture,” highlighting the integration of faith and cultural heritage.
