THE Return of Writs for the successful 2025 Motu-Koita Assembly Election was promptly delivered to the Department of Provincial and Local Level Government Affairs, on, Friday, the 1st of August 2025.

In the presence of newly elected Motu-Koita Assembly chairman Russell Wavik and his team made up of Women representatives as well, the PNG Electoral Commission, Commissioner Simon Sinai presented the Writs to the Department of Provincial and Local Level Government Affairs minister Soroi Eoe.

Commissioner Sinai applauded MKA for conducting the election successful, without any violence.

Commissioner Sinai further stated that the 2025 Local Level Government elections will be conducted straight after the countryโ€™s 50th Independence Anniversary Celebrations in September.

Commissioner also added that four by-elections counting underway with declarations expected soon.

Meanwhile, Minister Eoe while signing the Writs said proper hand-over and take-over of MKA leadership must be conducted forthwith, for smooth transition of leadership and duties to the incoming Chairman and his executives.

The event also witnessed by Moresby North-west MP Lohia Boe Samuel.
