NZ PRIME MINISTER IN COUNTRY TO CONSOLDATE BILATERAL TIES

THE arrival of New Zealand Prime Minister, Right Honourable Christopher Luxon on PNG soil yesterday marked momentous steps in consolidating bilateral ties with Papua New Guinea.

Prime Minister Luxon was warmly welcomed yesterday evening at the Apec Terminal with 19-gun salute from the Papua New Guinea Defence Force at 6:00PM local time.

This is the second time the New Zealand Prime Minister has set foot in the country, and the first bilateral meeting as Prime Minister with host PM, James Marape.

PM Luxon upon his arrival was greeted by NCDC Gov. Powes Parkop, Deputy PM John Rosso, Foreign Minster, Justin Tkachecko and Defence Chief Rear-Admiral, Philip Polewa.

The delegates proceeded to the Apec Haus for a state dinner which saw host Prime Minister James Marape formally welcome Luxon.

All formalities of the visit commenced today.
