ENB EYES TWO “FREE ZONE PROJECTS” AS ECONOMIC CATALYST FOR THE PROVINCE

EAST NEW PROVINCE is focussing on the implementation of two Free Zone Projects in the province, the Gazelle Agro- Industrial Special Economic Zone and the Rabaul Tuna Export Processing Zone, two pilot projects that were approved by the Marape Rosso Government through NEC decision, 434/2021.
In a recent Statement, East New Britain Governor, Michael Marum said the two Free Zone Projects will be the economic catalyst to support the province strive to attain greater Autonomy Status.
Governor Marum in contemplating the current ENB business environment, with the social challenges, overstretched Law and Order issues, he is determined to find solutions to pave way to achieving formidable social and economic development.
Governor Maru says, East New Britain is ready for greater Autonomy and with the implementation of the Gazelle Agro-industrial Zone and the Rabaul Tuna Export Processing Zone projects, there is greater hope and optimism.
He says the struggle in the province is real, but ENB will not be deterred by the negative issues, ENB will bounce back, like how it rebuilt itself from the 1994 twin volcanic eruption.
In appreciating the Marape Rosso Government, Governor Marum said Prime Minister’s commitment and trust on the people of East New Britain to contribute to the next 50 years of nation building in recognising and approving two monumental Free Zone pilot projects in the province, was indeed monumental as the country prepares to celebrate the nation’s 50th anniversary.
