SILAG’s SPECIAL PROCUMENT COMMITTEE TAKE OATH

THE Authority to Pre-Commit Committee (ACCP), under Section 28 of the National Procurement Act 2021, has officially certified and endorsed the members of the Somare Institute of Leadership and Governance (SILAG) Special Procurement Committee at SILAG’s Bully Beef Conference Room on Friday (05th of September 2025).
The endorsement allows the committee to make internal procurements of up to K5 million.
Magistrate Bare Mol swears in internal members, the SILAG CEO, Michael Barobe and Peter Lelesi, the Special Project officer out of five external members.
The external Committee members comprise of the Deputy State Solicitor, Llilian Vevara, the department of National Planning’s First Assistant Secretary Jonathan Kenneth, the Executive Manager Sub National, National Procurement Commission, Agaru Agarobe, Assistant Secretary of the Department of Works and Highways Elvin Pogetti and Assistant Secretary of the Department of Finance Benjamin Goimba.
Speaking on behalf of the National Procurement Committee (NPC), CEO Joe Sapa expressed gratitude to SILAG for their collaboration with the NPC.
He believes that this committee will procure goods, works and services efficiently moving forward.
SILAG’s CEO Barobe, thanked the APC, Office of the Secretary and Treasury for endorsing SILAG to have this committee to procure things that are needed at the institution.
