FUEL PRICE TO SURGE THIS MONTH

THE Independent Consumer and Competition or ICCC has announced the new retail fuel prices for the month of September, and will be effective today, 8th of September.
This month the Indicative Retail Price or IRP for Petrol will slightly increase while the prices for diesel and kerosene will decrease on average across the country.
According to ICCC, retail prices for diesel and kerosene naturally follow the trends in crude oil prices observed over the reporting period, however petrol prices are anticipated to see a slight increase which is mainly attributed to drone attacks by Ukraine on Russia earlier in the month of August, coupled with the rise in road travels caused by frequent flight delays in Russia which has led to an increase in gasoline consumption.
Petrol will be selling at K4.29 whilst Diesel at K4.07 and Kerosene at K3.75 respectively.
As part of ICCC’s enforcement and compliance on fuel prices, the ICCC inspectors will continue to conduct spot checks in all service stations starting today 8th September to ensure ongoing compliance by retail fuel operators.
