MEDICAL STAFF CALLS FOR CONJOINED TWINS ASSISTANCE

BY MARTHA LOUIS
A young man from Finschhafen, Winston Dunag, is calling on the public to help the family of the conjoined twins now receiving care at Port Moresby General Hospital.
Mr Dunag, a biomedical technician with Medtech Limited, said he was moved to act after learning about the twins’ condition through news reports.
“When I heard about their struggles, I decided to help by raising awareness and seeking support from kind-hearted people,” he said.
He said the twins’ parents come from a rural area and are struggling to meet daily needs while in Port Moresby, where living costs are high.
“I posted their story on Facebook so more people could help — whether with cash, clothes, or other basic needs,” he said. “Some people have already assisted, and others, including MP Rainbo Paita, have shown interest in helping.”
Mr Dunag said many rural hospitals still face shortages of equipment and medical supplies and urged people to help where they can.
“We can’t always wait for the government. We have the skills and knowledge to make change happen,” he said.
Those wishing to help can contact Mr Dunag on 7073 4971.
