SINAI IS STILL COMMISSIONER, ELECTORAL COMMISSION

CHIEF PNG Electoral Commission Simon Sinai clarified that he still remains the Commissioner, as he still has two-more months to serve before his four-year term lapse.
Sinai told this to media following recent media reports of his age and retrenchment exercise at the Country’s Constitutional Office.
Sinai confirmed that he was born on the 25th of October 1968 at the Kiripia Village of Tambul-Nebilyer district in the Westen Highlands province and he is now 57-years old.
Sinai said he served the Commission for the past 35-years and the reports that he is over 60-years is totally misleading.
He confirmed that he also has 3-more active years to reach the 60-years of compulsory retirement age, also confirming that he has two-more months to serve as per his contract.
Commissioner Sinai singled out that, the information speculated on social media are false.
PNG Electoral Commission Commissioner Simon Sinai has urged the public to verify information and not spread false and defamatory material on Media.
Commissioner Sinai was responding to the recent reports of his age, retirement and appointment of new acting Electoral Commissioner in Margret Vagi.
He said he does not know how people got those false and malicious documents, purported to be his Birth Certificate and published them on various Media and social media platforms.
