THE Bulolo District Development Authority, led by Chairman Sam Basil Jr., has taken proactive steps to ensure the safety of Bulolo and Morobe students at the University of Goroka following recent clashes with locals.
Bulolo DDA is arranging a unit from MS 15 and two buses to escort the students, Local Bulolo MP Sam Basil Jnr says the DDA is prioritizing the student’s safety and well-being.
As the situation unfolds, the University Council’s forthcoming statement will likely provide further clarity on the incident. For now, it’s reassuring to know that the students’ safety and welfare are the top priority.
“I have instructed my team to maintain communications with our student leaders and school admin plus our security personnel to ensure safe passage of our students back home. You kolim name blo me, me come.”
This arrangement follows the recent confrontation between the UOG students and locals from a nearby community in Goroka following an argument that stemmed up resulting in a UOG student being attacked by locals.
According to reports, 47 students have sustained injuries from the confrontation and the situation at the University is still tense hence Bulolo MP’s arrangement to transport Bulolo students attending the University of Goroka to safety
