PNG LEWAS DEPART FOR “ICC WOMEN’S T20 SERIES ” IN THAILAND

CRICKET Papua New Guinea recently announced the departure of the PNG Lewas, the countryโs national womenโs cricket team, to Thailand.
The team will take part in the ICC Womenโs T20 Emerging Nations Series from the 18th to the 30th of November.
This tournament brings together womenโs cricket teams ranked between 11th and 20th in the world. Itโs an important chance for the PNG Lewas to show their skills and gain more experience on the international stage.
The Lewas will face other strong emerging teams from around the world as they continue to grow womenโs cricket in Papua New Guinea and aim for higher rankings.
The team is led by Captain Brenda Tau and Vice-Captain Pauke Siaka, with a total of 14 players traveling to Thailand.
Cricket PNG has wished the Lewas and their coaching team all the best as they proudly represent the red, black, and gold.
The tournament will be held in Bangkok from the 12th to the 17th of November, 2025. Four teams will take part, host nation Thailand, Namibia, Scotland, and Papua New Guinea.
The Lewas will begin with a practice session today, followed by their first match against Scotland tomorrow, Thursday, 13th of November.
They will then play Namibia on Saturday, and Thailand in their final match on Monday, the 17th of November.
The team says they are ready and excited to represent Papua New Guinea and are looking forward to strong performances in all their games.
