GLOBE Manufacturing Limited has strengthened its partnership with the Madang Soccer Association (MSA) through support to the Under-15 School Soccer Festival, reinforcing its commitment to youth development in the province.

Operations Manager Damith Fernando said the company’s support reflects its long-standing value of giving back to the community.

“Globe Manufacturing has always prioritized giving back to the community,”Mr. Fernando said. “Whether through cash or kind, we support organizations and groups that approach us.”

He said Globe recently sponsored the school soccer festival and hopes to continue this partnership into the future.

“We have just engaged with the school soccer festival through sponsorship, and we would like to continue this in the future because we strongly believe in supporting our young people,” he said.

Mr. Fernando added that investing in sports is important for shaping young people and building safer communities.

“When young people have access to sports, it builds their interest, discipline, and confidence,”he said. “This can reduce issues like alcohol, school fights, and drug abuse while promoting healthier lifestyles.”

He also encouraged young players, schools, and the community to stay committed and united in supporting youth development.

“To the young players, schools, and the people of Madang, Globe Manufacturing Limited is proud to support your efforts in building a stronger and more united community,” he said. “We encourage all young athletes to stay committed, disciplined, and focused,both in sports and in life. Your passion and hard work represent the future of Madang.”

Mr. Fernando also thanked the schools and wider community for their support.

“Together, we can create opportunities that inspire the next generation to aim higher and achieve more,” he added.

Chairman of the Madang Soccer Association, Siegfried Beschel, thanked Globe Manufacturing Limited for supporting the event and making it special for the participating schools.

“Thank you, Globe, for making the event possible and special for the children. Investing in youths is investing in the future,” Mr. Beschel said. He encouraged other companies to follow Globe’s example in supporting youth-focused sports programs.
