THE Government says it is strengthening its commitment to rebuilding and upgrading Provincial and District Hospitals across the country, with a major increase in funding under the 2026 National Budget.

Treasury Minister Ian Ling-Stuckey says the health sector remains one of the highest priorities in next year’s budget, with significant allocations directed towards frontline facilities that serve rural and remote communities.

As part of this commitment, more than K375 million has been allocated for the Provincial Hospitals Development Program, while a further K100 million has been committed to the District Hospital Development Program.

Minister Ling-Stuckey says these investments reflect the government’s determination to ensure hospitals are fully functional, properly equipped, and able to deliver quality care, especially in areas facing severe infrastructure decay and workforce shortages.
