POLICE RETRIEVED BRUTALLY MURDERED MAN AFTER DRUNK BRAWL

POLICE along the Kainantu section of the Highlands Highway have found the body of a man in his 30s that was brutally murdered this morning around 5:30am and several others also sustained injuries.

According to investigations, Police say the deceased is believed to have been involved in a drunk brawl between another group of man from the Singsing Creek area bordering the Markham district and Eastern Highlands Province.

Police arrived at the scene, retrieved the body and transported the body to the nearby Ramu Hospital in Madang.

The deceased is believed to be from the Kasup area in Obura Wonenara district of Eastern Highlands Province.

Police are urging the public to be cautious when travelling past this section as situation currently remains tense, and Police are conducting investigations into the murder to restore peace and normalcy.
