“LIE IN STATE” AND STATE FUNERAL FOR LATE SOLAN MIRISIM

THE Late Minister for Works and Highways and Member for Telefomin, Late Solan Mirisim casket was at the grand hall of the Parliament House for the Lie in State ceremony this morning.

This was for the National leaders and dignitaries to pay their final respects and for the nation to formally recognize his service to the nation.

After the lie in state ceremony, the casket of the late minister will be escorted to Sioni Kami Church, for funeral service where the Prime Minister James Marape and Department of Works Secretary Gibson Holemba, will give their obituary.

The casket will depart Sione Kami Memorial Church for Department of Works Headquarter for department staff to pay their last respect and later escorted to family home at East Boroko to overnight before departing tomorrow for Vanimo.

The Casket of Late Mirisim will be received by the West Sepik Provincial Assembly, and will be escorted to Telefomin district, visit all 7 LLG’s in the District before he will be laid to rest.
