TEACHING Service Commission (TSC) bids farewell to outgoing Acting Chairman Samson Wanghiomie, welcomes new chairman Maini Mike Ugaia, and swears in Dr. Charly Muke as acting commissioner Policy and Kakaito Kasi as acting commissioner Operations, at Gateway Hotel, Port Moresby today.

Education Minister Lucas Dawa Dekena and Education Secretary, Dr. Uke Kombra graced the farewell luncheon with the members of the TSC and the education ministerial staff.

Speaking at the event, Minister Dekena, thanked the outgoing acting chairman for his service for the past 45 years and congratulates the incoming acting chairman, Maini Mike Ugaia.

The Minister urges the new TSC Commission members to consult with the NDoE to ensure better welfare of teachers, recruit and train them so that they can teach students to become God-fearing and law-abiding citizens of PNG.

Meanwhile the Minister on behalf of the department of education presented a K10, 000 to the outgoing Chairman as a token of appreciation.

The new Acting TSC Commissioner, Maini Mike Ugaia, shared heartfelt memories of the outgoing chairman. Ugaia acknowledged that TSC will miss him, but will remember his stories and impactful leadership roles.

He expressed readiness to take over and role with the new commissioners to ensure teachers are well-supported and students receive quality education.

Meanwhile, Teaching Service Commission acknowledged two establishment by the outgoing chairman which are improved housing conditions for teachers and Teacher Bio-Data.

TSC also presented a new vehicle to the outgoing chairman.
