THE Local-Level Government (LLG) presidential elections in Southern Highlands Province (SHP) have been successfully concluded, marking an important milestone in the provinceβs governance process.
Provincial election administrators reported that the polls were conducted in an orderly, transparent, and credible manner. The smooth completion of the elections has been attributed to strong administrative oversight and coordinated efforts among election officials, security personnel, and local communities.
Deputy Provincial Administrator (DPA), Dr. Emmanuel Kumpio, said the administration had introduced key improvements to strengthen the electoral process during his term. He noted that these reforms were implemented under the administration of Provincial Administrator David Kelma and the leadership of Governor William Titpe Powi.
βUnder my leadership, important improvements were introduced to ensure elections are conducted in a clear, credible, and orderly manner,β Dr. Kumpio said. βThese efforts reflect a strong commitment to transparency, fairness, and the public interest.β
Dr. Kumpio added that the successful completion of the LLG elections demonstrates the provinceβs ongoing progress in strengthening democratic practices at the local level.
Observers say the outcome highlights effective leadership and cooperation between the provincial administration and local communities, contributing to improved governance standards across Southern Highlands Province.
