NCD/CENTRAL LAUNCHED 2025 POLICE CHRISTMAS/NEW YEAR SECURITY OPERATION

POLICE in the National Capital District and Central Command this morning launched the 2025 Police Christmas New year Security Operation at the Unagi oval in Gordons Port Moresby.

Important dignitaries present to witness the launch and police parade included the Metropolitan Superintendent Warrick Simatab and NCD Governor Powes Parkop who officiated the event. Also present was Assistant Commissioner for Police NCD/Central Command Benjamin Turi, St John Ambulance CEO Dr. Arabella Koliwan, the Chairman of Motu Koitabu Assembly Mr Russel Wavik amongst other invited dignitories.

The Police officers were given their orders for their security operations over the festive period.

NCD Governor Hon. Powes Parkop in his address, thanked the Police force for their continued dedication and commitment of service to the city of Port Moresby and also to the country.

Governor Parkop also extended his heartfelt gratitude to the Royal Papua New Guinea Constabulary Hierarchy, NCD Metsup Simitab and also ACP Commander Benjamin Turi for the outstanding performance by the police force this year in providing security prior to the independence celebrations and also during the independence 50th Anniversary celebrations.

He further expressed Christmas is a time to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, and peace, unity and security are fundamental this Christmas season.

Governor Parkop says the key message of the gospel in celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ is Peace and Unity.
