NStJA RECEIVE CALLS NO MATTER BIG OR SMALL

By Nigel MADO
Time and time again, the “Green Angels” of the National St Johns Ambulance service have continued to serve without fear, proving themselves to be championing the virtue of service. This year will not be different as they stand by, ready to save lives.
This year was no different, as the NStJA recorded huge wins, serving people across the country. According to Commissioner Kai Tane, the NStJA’s achievements included: handling over 3 million emergency calls and attending to more than 36,000 emergency incidents nationwide.
The National Capital District alone recorded just over 17,000, with Morobe, Central and East New Britain Provinces seeing 11,809, 4,610 and 2,834 responses respectively. Over the course of the year, the Green Angels touched over 28,000 patients, transporting more than 25,000 patients to the hospital covering over 1.4 million kilometres in emergency response.
The Angels provided medical support at over 340 events, training more than 6,600 people in First Aid which included 2,984 students.
It’s no doubt, the NStJA have been watching over the country, whether large or small, you can still count on the fact that whenever you call, you can be rest assured that your call will never go unanswered.
