A commanding and dominant efforts from Konedobu-based South City Rams proved themselves the champions of 2025-26 National Capital District Governor’s Cup tournament.

South City Rams belted the oncoming 54 Bears in a one-way traffic, piled massive 36-pointers to 6 to be crowned as this year’s champions.

Led by Port Moresby Vipers playmaker and Kone Storms home-grown Ben Fige, Rams seem to be more confident and controlled much of the field possession and minutes, walking to the sheds with 16-points to nil at the break.

With epic home crowd turn-out and support, determined Rams did not let any air escapes and returned to the field of play to run the nails deeper on the Bears coffin by showcasing another 20-pointers.

Bears work hard in the second-stanza to boost themselves with a solo put down from an individual brilliances, however, it was too little, too late to stop the marching Rams.

Meanwhile, in the women’s Cup final, Kapomanda Sisters walk out winners, after defeating Tobalu Girls 12-8.

In the earlier game, Gerehu Young Guns bagged the Plate title after brushing off Komagin Kongo in another epic 8-4 victory.

Major sponsor and NCD Governor Powes Parkop commended every team participate in the tournament, adding that each year, the game and talents must grow.

Powes said the tournament resumes at the end of this year.
