CERTIFICATES HELD BACK DUE TO NON-PAYMENT TO SERVICE PROVIDERS

EDUCATION Secretary Dr Uke Kombra confirmed today that the delay in issuance of Grade 12. Grade 10 and Grade 8 was due to delayed payments to Service providers.

Dr Kombra when addressing media today, sincerely apologies to the students and parents, stakeholders for this unfortunate situation.

“We regret that our certificates for students who completed exams in 2025 for Grade 8, 10 and 12, that the department has faced challenges in financial limitation and the process of payments to the service providers have been slow.

“On behalf of the Education Department, I am sorry and regret what has happened, it is not a deliberate action of the department but basically because of funding issues,” Secretary Kombra expressed.

He say the certificates are already printed and are waiting for payment to be released which he affirmed first payments have been done, and the first lot of Grade 12 Certificates be released, followed by Grade 10 and Grade 8 by the next week.


He further says, Education Department is closely working with Service providers partners like Government Printing Office, Bank of Papua New Guinea and Bank South Pacific to ensure funds are transferred to service providers for the certificates to be delivered before the end of January.
