ELECTORAL OFFICIALS & MATERIAL READY FOR DEI & NEW IRELAND BY-ELECTIONS

PNG Electoral Commission is on foot, preparing well ahead to move Electoral Officials and Material out of the Headquarters, for polling to begin at the two respective vacant seats in Dei and New Ireland.

Acting-Commissioner Margareth Vagi confirmed that Polling Officials from the headquarters are on their way to the two provinces in Western Highlands and New Irelands to conduct the polling, which starts on Monday, 19th of January 2026.

Acting Commissioner Vagi further added that her officers will visit the two-concerned electorates, starting today, Friday, tomorrow Saturday and Sunday to conduct a successful by-election.

Vagi also elaborates that it would be one-day polling exercise.
