OK Tedi Mining Limited has strengthened its commitment to tackling domestic and family violence by backing Femili PNG, an NGO providing critical support services to survivors of domestic violence across Papua New Guinea.

As part of this partnership, Ok Tedi purchased Femili PNG’s coffee, which is sourced from the Western Highlands of PNG, and distributed them as complimentary gifts to delegates attending the recent PNG Investment Week conference, hosted by the PNG Chamber of Resources and Energy in Sydney, Australia.

Proceeds from the coffee, supports Femili PNG’s case management, safe accommodation assistance, outreach programs and advocacy work nationwide.

Ok Tedi Media and Public Relations Manager Ruth Waram says domestic violence continues to affect many families in PNG and supporting initiatives like this is about taking responsibility and being part of the solution.

Meanwhile, Femili PNG Australia Executive Director Jocelyn Condon welcomed the support, saying the partnership helps raise understanding of Femili PNG’s services and shows how businesses and communities can contribute to ending family and sexual violence in Papua New Guinea.
