THE newly appointed Police Minister John Pundari has advised that Provincial Police Commands will come under audit by the Royal Papua New Guinea Constabulary [RPNGC] to identify how much work has been done and how much has been achieved in the Policing Sector.

Pundari this morning in his first press conference as minister stated that they will be looking to identify how Government funding has helped to address law and order around the country.

He said this should not be taken in a negative light but rather this is to enhance police efficiency and to instil discipline, adding that this audit will be to identify whether police resources expended are reaping the best results for the country.

Pundari mentioned that many are times, many provincial commands receive financial support at the hands of Provincial and District Governments and this is to ensure transparency within the rank and file of the Police.
