MORE THAN 150 VICTIMS IN SIMBU RECEIVED SUPPORT FROM TRIBAL FOUNDATION

MORE than 150 victims of sorcery violence displaced have received support through PNG Tribal Foundation in Sinesine Yongomugl district in Simbu last week.


PNG Tribal Foundation President GT Bustin confirmed the district has four active sorcery accusation related violence (SARV) cases with 186 victims are under support of Tribal Foundation while the matter is under police investigations and court.


President Bustin said they supported the victims through supply of bulk food, kitchen and beddings to families who are taking refuge while fighting for justice.


While, in Port Moresby, President Bustin stated that about 29 people including 14 children were displaced from their homes in one of the settlements (named) following the death of two men who were allegedly stabbed, over a death of an elderly man in November.


“The families displaced received support from Tribal Foundation and the case is before police investigations at Boroko,” President Bustin stated in a statement.


“NCD and Central Assistant Police Commander Warrick Simatab met with Tribal Foundation team last week has confirmed main suspect has been arrested and assured the victims that investigations have commenced.
